Choosing a reminder frequency
Pick a cadence per person, from weekly to yearly.
The frequency lives on each contact, so a close collaborator and someone you met once at a conference can sit in the same list on very different rhythms.
- 1Open the contact and tap Edit.
- 2Choose a reminder frequency.
- 3Save. The next due date is calculated from the last time you marked them contacted.
Picking a sensible number
The common mistake is setting everyone to a short interval, which produces a Today screen so crowded you start ignoring it. A useful starting point is monthly for people you actively work with, quarterly for your wider circle, and twice a year for everyone else.
Shortening a frequency can make someone due immediately, because the gap since you last spoke is already larger than the new interval.
